3 Ways To Learn with AI

Ever wished you could learn something new as quickly as Neo learned kung-fu in the Matrix?

While we are not fully there just yet, AI already makes knowledge accessible unlike ever before in human history.

This post is part of the AI Compass tour. AI Compass is a free tool designed for anyone curious to find new ways to partner with AI. It contains 6 main categories and 18 sub-categories, each describing one particular way to partner with AI. If you want to follow along, get your own free copy of the AI Compass here.

In this post, we will look at the 'Learn' category which contains 3 main sub-categories - Study, Summarize and Interact.

Let’s explore each of these one by one.

Study is first. Here AI can become your personal learning designer and tutor in one, teaching you any topic you want to learn. You can start with a high-level syllabus that you tweak as you need, and then have AI write out the actual lessons. It can even create a quiz to check your understanding at the end. You can go through the material on your own or, have it turned into an audio broadcast via tools like ElevenLabs.

Summarize is second. Easily one of the most frequent ways for me to work with AI. Whether it’s long PDFs, call transcripts or white papers, AI can easily capture the essence of each material, making it possible to go through content that you may never otherwise have time for. My favourite? Life-like summary podcasts with NotebookLM.

Interact is third. Here you can invite AI to represent a person (real or fictitious, alive or deceased) that you want to learn from. Want to learn poetry from Rumi? Vulcan logic from Spock? Theory of relativity from Einstein? No problem. You can also repurpose one of the lessons or summaries you created earlier, and have a live conversation with AI about it.

I am generally a curious person and love to learn about pretty much anything. I have learned to temper this a bit these days but still, the curiosity is always there. With AI, I can now learn anything I need, anytime I want. It’s truly remarkable.

What about you - what is your favourite way to learn with AI?
