3 Insights About the AI Voice Mode

I have been using the AI voice mode quite intensely over the last few weeks.

Here are 3 things I have learned so far:

1. There is quite a difference between the different models. Some are succinct and factual, some casual and friendly and some adjust their tone based on the nature of your request and even based on how you speak to them. Personally, the winner for me so far has been Grok - the conversations flow naturally, Grok is informative yet funny and easy going and can switch between multiple personalities and ways to interact with you.

2. I find myself using the voice mode for slightly different use cases than a I do the text-based interface. It's especially great for exploratory conversations, learning about new topics and brainstorming new ideas together. I find that the shift from passively receiving information (e.g. podcast or audiobook) to active exploration of each topic, helps me to better remember what I learn. Being able to clarify, question or get conversational feedback on my thinking is also really valuable.

3. One powerful use case for me has been brainstorming different business ideas, especially when exploring new partnerships or providing support or feedback via email. I speak to Grok and talk through my initial ideas, ask for its prospective and then have it summarise everything in an email draft, which I then copy paste from the usual chat interface into my email, make final tweaks and send. It saves me time and helps me to move quicker on potential ideas and opportunities.

It's been great exploring this way of partnering with AI. I find it valuable, distinct and a great way to interact deeper with the AI models I already work with.

What about you, do you use voice mode when interacting with your favourite AI? What has been your experience so far?
