3 Ways to Grow with AI
Ever wished you could have a way to reflect on your experiences, get detailed feedback or have a personal development coach available 24/7?
You can tap into AI for your personal and professional growth, and this opportunity is now accessible to anyone with a basic internet connection.
This post is part of the AI Compass tour. AI Compass is a free tool designed for anyone curious to find new ways to partner with AI. It contains 6 main categories and 18 subcategories, each describing one particular way to partner with AI. If you want to follow along, get your own free copy of the AI Compass here.
Today we will look at the 'Grow' category which contains 3 main sub-categories - Reflect, Calibrate and Develop.
Reflect is first. Here AI becomes your reflection partner, helping you to debrief your day, week or a particular experience and gain new insights about yourself in the process. You can record yourself on your phone reflecting on your week (or journal on the same), upload the text, and AI will analyze patterns, highlight blind spots, and suggest areas for further development.
Calibrate is second. This is about getting AI feedback on anything you want a second prospective on. A presentation you've given, a conversation you've had or an online meeting you have lead. You can upload a transcript of your session and ask for detailed feedback on what you did well and where you can improve, including specific actionable tips for next time.
Develop is third. Here, AI acts as your personal development coach. You can outline any topic, challenge or issue you are currently facing and have AI guide you through a set of steps to gain clarity and confidence in addressing the situation in real life. You can ask AI to use coaching frameworks such as GROW, or just outline the situation, the goal and follow the conversation (it's best to use the AI voice mode for this one).
I've worked in personal development for over 20 years and while I do believe there will continue to be space for human to human interaction to support one's growth, it's amazing that AI now makes similar insights and experiences available to anyone.
The feedback I have received on how I conduct my online meetings has been thorough, detailed and immediately useful.
What about you - how do you partner with AI to support your personal growth and development?
