3 Ways to Explore with AI

Ever wished you could have a crystal ball to peek into the future or conduct research like a seasoned academic in minutes?

AI is transforming how we explore ideas, solutions, and possibilities in ways that were unimaginable even a year ago.

This post is part of the AI Compass tour. AI Compass is a free tool designed for anyone curious to find new ways to partner with AI. It contains 6 main categories and 18 subcategories, each describing one particular way to partner with AI. If you want to follow along, get your own free copy here.

In this post, we will look at the 'Explore' category which contains 3 main sub-categories - Research, Forecast and Invent.

Let's explore each of these one by one.

Research is first. Here AI becomes your research assistant, capable of diving deep into any topic and integrating dozens of sources in minutes. Whatever you are curious about, AI can compile comprehensive research report that would normally take hours or even days to prepare.

Forecast is second. Using any of the available foresight methodologies like scenario planning, AI can help you peek into potential futures. No one can know for sure what the future holds. But exploring it ahead of time can give us unique insights about how it may unfold and help us make better decisions in the present.

Invent is third. Here you can partner with AI to generate novel solutions to virtually any problem. Some you may tackle today and others in the future, as AI systems become increasingly capable. Start by describing an idea, challenge or project, and AI can brainstorm creative solutions and inventions to address your specific needs.

Personally, I find myself using the research capability often, whenever I am new to a topic or a field and want to quickly get a thorough overview. As a plus, you can then take the output and prepare a conversational podcast summary via NotebookLM. I find this combination has accelerated my ability to learn new things dramatically.

What about you - how do you partner with AI to explore new ideas and possibilities?
